Privacy & cookie policy

Privacy

Whole & Home is committed to providing privacy for its clients and will only use client data as set out in this policy.

Introduction

This privacy policy provides you with the details of how Whole & Home collects, uses and protects your personal information.

Daisy Cordell is the owner of Whole & Home and is a sole trader. The business address is 3 Fairlawns, 159 Kingsway, Hove, BN3 4FZ. Daisy is responsible for keeping your personal information safe, giving you access to it if you need it, and disposing of it if you ask or after a reasonable time has passed.

If you have any questions about GDPR or Whole & Home’s privacy policy, you can contact Daisy at hello@wholeandhome.com. Likewise, Daisy will contact clients via email if there are any changes to this policy.

What types of information does Whole & Home collect?

Clients

A ‘client’ is someone who Whole & Home works with either through face-to-face sessions, virtual (video call sessions) or telephone sessions. A client could also be a prospective client – someone who has not used a service, but who has enquired about working with Whole & Home. Methods of enquiry could be over the telephone, through email, through Whole & Home’s website contact form or through another medium such as social media or a service provider website.

The personal information collected about clients includes:
  • Full name
  • Gender, marital status and title
  • Telephone number
  • Physical address
  • Email address
  • Skype or other video call service name
  • Any other online identities a client wishes to share
  • Information about why you would like to use Whole & Home’s services and any information you might give me about your personal life, the condition of your home, for example, or any other details you might wish to disclose.
  • Information about your preferences in receiving marketing communication from Whole & Home.
Whole & Home will not collect any sensitive information other than that which is necessary in order for us to arrange to work together. All information received will be stored on private password-protected software. To ensure all information is updated and maintained correctly, please let me know if there are any changes to your personal information by contacting hello@wholeandhome.com.

Email list subscribers

If you have actively ‘opted in’ to receive newsletters and other relevant information from Whole & Home, you will have signed up via the website or social media sign up form and consented to providing your name and email address and to Whole & Home emailing you on a monthly basis. The emails are powered by a third party called MailChimp, which is GDPR-compliant. You have the option to unsubscribe from these emails at any time by visiting the link at the bottom of an email or by contacting hello@wholeandhome.com.

Photos

Before working together, you will be asked whether you give consent to ‘before’ and/or ‘after’ photos being taken of your space. It is your choice which areas of your home, if any, you are comfortable with being photographed, and what the photos will be used for. With your consent, photos will be taken in a delicate way to omit any images or other factors which may personally identify you. These anonymous photos will then be used on the website, social media platforms and marketing communication with your consent. No images will be taken or shared without your clear consent.

By providing Whole & Home with your personal information, you warrant that you are over 13 years of age. Any personal information collected and/or stored will never be sold or shared with third parties without your consent, or unless required by law.

How will you keep my information secure?

Whole & Home stores client information in secure software which is password-protected, and accesses the information through a laptop or phone which are also password protected.

In the event that any of the storage methods are stolen, breached, or hacked, Whole & Home will do the following within 72 hours:
  • Let the police know if any physical storage has been either lost or stolen
  • Let the email provider know if there has been a case of email hacking. In the event that Mailchimp or any other third parties have been data breached or hacked, the company would usually notify Whole & Home. In any of these cases, Whole & Home would report the data theft, breach or hack to the Information Commissioner’s Office if the incident has a high likelihood of risking the affected clients’ rights and freedoms
  • Contact all the clients whose personal data has been compromised and provide advice on protecting themselves from any effects of the breach

How long will you keep my information?

For tax purposes, Whole & Home will keep basic information, such as name, contact details, and financial and transactional data for six years after a person ceases being a client. All other personal information will be kept for two years, after which it will be discarded. If a client then chooses to use Whole & Home’s services after the two years, they will be required to provide the information again.

What rights do I have regarding the information you hold on me?

You have a right to request a copy of the information a company holds about you and to correct any inaccurate information. You also have a right to request that a company erases your personal information from its database, and to restrict the way a company uses your data.

If you’re unhappy with how Whole & Home is handling your data, you also have a right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, but I would be very grateful if you would contact me directly in the first instance so that I can try to resolve any issues for you. See ico.org.uk for more information or get in touch at hello@wholeandhome.com to request any of these actions.

The information at a most basic level will include the website name and a unique session ID. But most sites will have other cookies, and they greatly help the user by remembering things such as what you might have added to your basket on a retail site or your preferences for using the site.

This website uses third party cookies such as Google Search Console and Google Analytics to collect information which allows Whole & Home to further enhance its visitor experience by recording things such as site usage, which links and buttons you might click on etc, and the effectiveness of its advertising campaigns.

Whole & Home also uses Google Adwords cookies to make marketing or promotional material more relevant to visitors across the Google Display Network. Any data collected is in accordance with both Whole & Home and Google’s privacy policies. Please be aware that, should any third parties advertise on our website, they may also use cookies, over which we have no control. These cookies are likely to be analytical/performance cookies or targeting cookies.

Can I control which cookies are used?

You cannot switch off any of the essential cookies that are set by Whole & Home, but you can manage which third party cookies you would like to be set. You can do this by accessing your browser’s settings.
